Little Gifts

Awoke to snow today. It wasn't alot, and I had reason to believe there wouldn't be a closing today, so we saddled up Linda's Subaru and she drove me in. Pulled into the parking lot...the big, wide, empty parking lot. I called the main number & heard the magic words that delight me even more now as an adult than as a child. We ran a couple of errands, came home to deal with clearing the driveway, and now the day is mine. Putting on fleece and settling in with a book. More recovered than not from the flu, but a day of rest is just what the doctor ordered.

Linda took the photos at dawn;  the one above is our house taken from the botto of the driveway. The one below is the coop, taken from our front door.

Wishing you a peaceful day, snow or not!

PS.....brownies are already baking!

I've a pot of Love Soup going on here...a great lovely bean soup...
while no snow falls from my neck of the woods a little is predicted.

Linda's photo's are warm and inviting...I love the blueness of them. :)

Brownies sound so decadent (sp?)! Yummy! He He He...

Enjoy your day of rest...and by the way...what are you reading?

I got a phone call this morning at 5:30 telling me school was cancelled. I was thrilled, but then couldn't fall back to sleep. It was a beautiful snow fall though. Great photo BTW.

I love her blue snow pictures, for I always think of snow as icy blue. What a gift you got this morning, I woke this morning about 4 am in the cold dark bedroom and couldn't figure out what woke me but then - there it was - total silence with some "white" behind the curtains... Snow, beautiful, fluffy, soft, downy snow all over my little village. I came downstairs and put the heat up to 70 - mde coffee and stood in living room looking out the windows at the white, sleeping village. AND I made the same brownies - I love this mix since I add chips, cracked up toffee, cracked old candy canes - anything I can find that will let me "make it mine" - but an afternoon of warm brownies and icy cold milk is sacred to me (LOL)... Feel better and love, absolutely love those photos!

Fleece + book + brownies on a snowy day = perfect

You house looks so warm and cozy, and is that really the chicken's house? I remember when you got the door, but it looks like a cottage!

Ghirardelli brownies? That sounds delightfully decadent.

Can I come live in your chicken coop? What a great little dwelling.
