Now, where did I leave that?

The Beast Awakens

Okay...today I'm wanting something delicious and decadent and forbidden; I'd commit crimes to have that something...not a 'taste' of something...I want the something in quantity. I'm not picky....it could be tortilla chips w/ cheese sauce, or a creamy pint of Ben & Jerry's Karamel Sutra, a Big Mac, or a big bowl of tomato mac & cheese. It could be a chocolate malt (with real powdered malt, thank you) or a (large) bag of BBQ potato chips or really good fish & chips (the latter served with a sharp, crisp ginger beer). I'd settle for Freihoffer chocolate chip cookes, or dark chocolate-covered marzipan. I don't want salad, or fruit, or quinoa or veggies in any form or one more piece of chicken.

I've gone 8 days without SERIOUS cravings, but they're here today.

Yikes! Don't do anything foolish; you know you'll regret it! Time for a plan to handle these beastly cravings. Sometimes just a teeny tiny taste will help (like those little hershey minis) NOT that I am saying you should do that, because sometimes that causes the floodgates to open, so to speak. I feel for you, kid!! Maybe some jumping jacks or a quick walk, or a cold shower? Or look at photos of really gross obese people, or that tv show "My 600 pound life". You need an Anti-Junk Food Mantra!! I am trying to help here, probably just making it worse. Good luck fighting the Beast!!!

Standing with you in solidarity Ashling. :)

I'm havin' a terrible time giving up the soda...and oblivious me bought another 12-pack of it yesterday when shopping. Grrr...

Got to give up that wicked, wicked drink!

Sending up some good thoughts for us both!

Giving up soda in general isn't tough, but giving up ginger beer specifically is really tough; we were drinking it daily (it comes in green bottles like beer bottles; we always wonder if the recyclable collectors think we're serious alcoholics). Giving it up is MUCH better on our budget though!

So far have held off the cravings. Dinner is kibbeh (a Middle Eastern meat & bulghur dish) and curried carrot-parsnip soup (which is spicy-sweet). Planning on pienapple or melon for an evening snack, so while none of it is a substitute for what I REALLY want (a menage a trois w/ Ben & Jerry), hoping it'll tame the sweet, carb-laden urges.
